GEOFFREY YOSTE WITHDRAWS NAME FROM RACE FOR TRANSPORTATION COMMISSIONER OF NORTHERN DISTRICT

Lafayette County Native, Geoffrey Yoste is withdrawing his name from the election for Transportation Commissioner in the Northern District. He initially filed to run for the seat in order to protect it in the event current Commissioner, the Honorable Mike Tagert, was elected in the MSO1 Special Election. He said, “I and many others felt that it was important that we ensure that we had a solid and conservative Republican to run, and be prepared to serve to continue the outstanding job that Commissioner Tagert has done.”

Since Commissioner Tagert did not make the runoff and will be seeking re-election as Transportation Commissioner, Yoste has made the decision to withdraw. He will also reconcile all of his expenses and after they are paid, his elect committee, Friends of Yoste, will be refunding the money raised back to contributors.

He has turned his full support to Commissioner Tagert, saying, “He has served on the Transportation Commission with distinction and has selflessly represented the constituents of the Northern District and I feel it is vital that we reelect him to this important position.”

In addition, Yoste be concentrating his efforts to help elect the Republican nominee, Trent Kelly, to Congress in the June 2nd runoff.
