Salaries of coast mayors, administrations shows Biloxi’s Holloway highest paid

By: Magnolia Tribune - September 5, 2014

Biloxi’s mayor has the highest salary; see what your mayor, other officials make

OCEAN SPRINGS, Mississippi — Biloxi’s A.J. Holloway is the Mississippi coast’s highest-salaried mayor, with an annual salary of $115,898, far outpacing Gulfport’s Billy Hewes, who is paid $92,184, according to a recent survey of public officials/employees salaries on the coast.

Holloway, however, has only been accepting about $26,000 of his salary since 2010, so he technically can’t be called the “highest-paid,” but his position is the highest-salaried on the coast. He is already drawing retirement pay from the state retirement system. He also gets full benefits from the city for himself and his family.

The full salary for the Biloxi mayor is more than double the $57,283 Moss Point’s Billy Broomfield gets and three times more than the $36,000 paid to Waveland’s David Garcia.
