Jackson, MS – Liberal Democrat U.S. Senator Majority Leader Harry Reid has chosen his candidate in the Mississippi Senate runoff election…he’s “pulling for” Chris McDaniel.
“In a Politico article today, Harry Reid made it clear as “he said that ‘everyone is pulling for’ tea party favorite Chris McDaniel to win his runoff fight against GOP Sen. Thad Cochran in Mississippi, a scenario that the Democratic leader believes would make the general election even more competitive for his party.”
“These comments from Harry Reid today confirm that Democrats are hoping Chris McDaniel wins the runoff because that gives them their best chance for a Democrat to win in November,” said Cochran campaign spokesman Jordan Russell. “Liberal national Democrats like Harry Reid readily admit they’re ‘pulling for’ Chris McDaniel. It’s clear the national Democrats don’t want to run against our conservative Senator Thad Cochran. The last Republican Senate candidate Harry Reid was this excited about was Todd Akin. With winning the majority of the U.S. Senate at stake in this election, Thad Cochran is the Mississippi’s strongest voice and can do more for Mississippi with a victory in the runoff on June 24.”
