Area tea party asks GOP chair to quit

The Brookhaven Tea Party has joined the Mississippi Tea Party in asking for the resignation of state Republican Party chair Joe Nosef, saying Nosef is showing favoritism to U.S. Sen. Thad Cochran over his tea-party backed challenger, state Sen. Chris McDaniel.

Brookhaven Tea Party chairman Kendall Boutwell said in a press release that Nosef “has proven to be far from neutral” in the race, based on statements he made to various media outlets. Boutwell said Nosef’s alleged lack of neutrality violates party bylaws.
