Governor signs cannabis oil bill
Gov. says he’s been assured of ‘tightest controls’ over its use
Gov. Phil Bryant’s office says he has signed House Bill 1231, allowing the medical use of cannabis oil derived from marijuana, into law.
Bryant, who has voiced concerns about allowing medical marijuana use being a stepping stone to legalized recreational use, says he’s been assured the cannabis oil — which does not provide a “high” — will be used only under the “tightest controls,” through UMMC primarily to help children suffering from severe seizures.
