Cochran issues statement on unemployment benefits standoff
“The economy posted its weakest job growth in three years and all Senators should have an opportunity to fully debate and vote on ideas that could help put more Americans to work,” Cochran said. “Instead, the majority has created a take-it-or-leave-it legislative process that does a disservice to the unemployed and everyone who is anxious about their job outlook. This debate should not be limited to a short-term extension of emergency payments to the jobless.”
