Cochran hires Nunnelee’s communications director

Speaking of communications directors with national experience, Sen. Thad Cochran’s campaign announced the hiring of Jordan Russell, who started today.

Russell knows first-hand what a contentious race is like. He was with Nunnelee when the then-state senator challenged and defeated Democrat incumbent U.S. Rep. Travis Childers. Russell, who was only a year out of college at the time, was among the first hired for the campaign. He served as Nunnelee’s aide de camp and was one of the regular faces people saw.

When Nunnelee was elected, Russell moved to D.C. to help set up the office, working first in constituency relations and then policy before taking over the communications role about two years ago.
