Japan and Mississippi will talk trade in Biloxi

Japan’s U.S. Ambassador Kenichiro Sasae will be in Biloxi on Monday to meet with Gov. Phil Bryant and others from Mississippi to promote trade, investment and understanding between the two countries.

The 36th annual Joint Meeting of the Southeast – U.S. Japan and Japan/U.S. Southeast Associations will be at the Beau Rivage Sunday through Tuesday. Participants will have plenty to share, as representatives of Japan and the seven member states — Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee — will discuss rebuilding efforts following disasters and business opportunities across the region.

Attendees will tour area attractions, shop and play golf. Mississippi country music artist Marty Stuart will perform at a gala reception Monday night at Hard Rock Casino.
