Bryant taps Waveland resident to serve on 5-member Mississippi Commission on Marine Resources

Mississippi Gov. Phil Bryant on Tuesday nominated Waveland resident Ernie Zimmerman to fill a vacancy on the Commission on Marine Resources.

The five-member commission governs the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources. Zimmerman will need state Senate confirmation to fill the final months of a four-year term that expires June 30.

He’ll succeed Vernon Asper, who left the commission in July after serving for 19 years.
