Miss. budget writers increase revenue estimates
Top lawmakers are increasing the estimate of how much money Mississippi can spend on state government programs this budget year and next.
The Joint Legislative Budget Committee met Tuesday. Members voted to increase the current year’s revenue estimate from just under $5.1 billion to just over $5.2 billion.
They also set an estimate of nearly $5.4 billion for the coming year.
