Public Service Commissioner Brandon Presley recently won a 2-1 vote on the Mississippi Public Service Commission to fight the Environmental Protection Agency’s newest rounds of federal regulations aimed at the American coal industry and traditional coal power generation.
“The EPA just gets crazier and crazier,” Presley said. “The good folks of Mississippi are eyewitnesses to what the EPA would love to shove down on the rest of the country through their unchecked federal power.
The experimental Kemper Lignite Plant that the EPA anoints as their pet project, and the reason for these new regulations, now costs nearly $5 billion, making it the most expensive project in state history,” Presley said.
