Bumpy Start – Vicksburg aldermen reject all of Flagg’s nominees
The Vicksburg Board of Aldermen on Wednesday rejected all of new Mayor George Flaggs’ nominations for city leadership positions.
Flaggs had picked police detective Sandra Johnson Williams to replace Walter Armstrong as police chief and Derek Stamps to replace Charles Atkins as fire chief, but he was shot down by the aldermen. His nomination of Ramel Cotton as city judge was also voted down.
