Southaven Mayor’s request to have repayment reduced is denied
A Hinds County judge has denied a request from Southaven Mayor Greg Davis to throw out part of the $70,000 that the state auditor alleges he owes for unsubstantiated personal expenses.
WMCTV in Memphis reports Davis’ argues that his reimbursements followed state law and he had the authority to approve his city travel.
Davis’ attorneys have argued it will be hard for prosecutors to prove if Davis spent the money because more than one city employee had a city-issued credit card.
