Later today, the Mississippi Republican Party will welcome seven new members to its ranks.
Gov. Phil Bryant, MSGOP Chairman Joe Nosef, and other Republican leaders will welcome seven elected officials from French Camp (Choctaw County) at a 5:30 PM event at the Mississippi Republican Party’s Headquarters located at 415 Yazoo Street in Jackson.
The following officials will be introduced as the latest to switch to the GOP:
H. Glen Barlow, Mayor
Rebecca Stevens, Board of Aldermen
Peter J. Pendleton, Board of Aldermen
Jennifer C. Morgan, Board of Aldermen
Jan Henderson, Board of Aldermen
Becky Rogers, Board of Aldermen
Thomas Rayburn, Choctaw County Constable Post 1
“We welcome these officials to the Mississippi Republican Party,” said MSGOP Chairman Joe Nosef, “Their decision proves that the Republican Party is the only home for conservatives in Mississippi.”
Gov. Phil Bryant said, “With this move these seven individuals are charting a new course for their constituents they represent. Now more than ever we can see the stark differences in the two parties and you will continue to see more people switch Republican over the next couple of years. I appreciate the work of the Mississippi Republican Party in making this happen.”
French Camp area State Rep. Joey Hood said, “I am proud to welcome these dedicated public servants of Choctaw County to the Republican Party. I look forward to continue working with them for the betterment of Choctaw County and the State of Mississippi.”
Since 2009, the Mississippi Republican Party has welcomed more than 60 elected officials to its ranks. As the party for all conservatives in the state, the Mississippi Republican Party is primed for growth. We will continue to protect and promote the values shared by Mississippians, and we encourage all who believe in these principles to join our efforts.
