Palazzo supports Sandy aid bill; Nunnelee votes no
After coming under fire for voting against legislation to help Superstorm Sandy victims, Rep. Steven Palazzo supported a $50.7 billion emergency aid package Tuesday, urging his colleagues to also back the bill.
“Today’s vote for immediate relief is about giving Sandy victims the help they need now,” Palazzo said on the House floor as lawmakers debated the emergency aid bill. “It is vital to the recovery efforts of the Northeast. It is vital to make our communities more resilient. It is vital to ensuring better preparedness and response to major storms.”
The House passed the measure 241 to 180.
