Sen. Chris McDaniel is a busy man

Chris McDaniel of Laurel is a busy man. A partner in the Hortman Harlow Bassi Robinson & McDaniel firm, he also serves as a state senator, co-owns a real estate business, writes for four newspapers and a website and is a fill-in host for a radio program. His legal practice primarily focuses on insurance and corporate defense.

A graduate of William Carey University and the University of Mississippi School of Law, McDaniel served as a federal law clerk for Charles W. Pickering Sr. before joining the Laurel firm that is one of South Mississippi’s oldest.

He regards his service as a state senator as a significant accomplishment. “I had the honor of drafting, authoring and co-authoring numerous new laws in the past three years,” he said. “In so doing, I believe that service has been my most significant professional accomplishment from a leadership in law standpoint.”

Brett W. Robinson, a friend and professional colleague, says McDaniel exemplifies leadership and integrity. “Chris has accomplished many things; however, it is my belief that his accomplishments will only be exceeded by those things he has set as goals for himself, his family and his community in the future.”
