Rep. Kevin McGee resigns over ethics charges
The Mississippi Ethics Commission confirmed today that Rep. Kevin McGee, R-Brandon, has resigned from the Mississippi Legislature over ethics charges dating back to February.
In February the Ethics Commission found McGee had violated state ethics laws because his company did business with state agencies while he was in the Legislature. McGee appealed the Ethics Commission’s decision.
As part of the settlement, McGee will pay a fine of $10,000 and refrain from doing further business with the state for one year. He has also agreed not to run for the Legislature again.
