Mississippi’s 2013 tax climate looking pretty good
Mississippi’s tax climate is better than that of most U.S. states.
Mississippi ranks 17th in the Tax Foundation’s State Business Tax Climate Index for 2013. Mississippi’s state and local tax burden is lower than the national average.?
The Index compares states in five areas of taxation that impact business: corporate; individual; sales; unemployment insurance; and property (including residential and commercial).
The ranks of neighboring states are as follows: Louisiana (32nd), Arkansas (33rd), Tennessee (15th), and Alabama (21st).
