Southern Company CEO calls Kemper plant a ‘home run’

Large crowds gathered for Gov. Phil Bryant’s energy summit here Thursday, where the governor unveiled his Mississippi Works plan, which is designed to attract more energy companies to Mississippi and also beef up research and training.

The plan dubbed Mississippi Works: Mississippi’s Energy Roadmap, will focus on promoting the state’s competitive advantages, maximizing energy resources and expanding energy capacity, as well as conservation and efficiency. It also calls for training to have the proper workforce for the new jobs that would be created, among other priorities.
