AG Hood, Entergy fight to remain in federal court

A federal judge has declined to transfer a lawsuit filed by Attorney General Jim Hood against Entergy Mississippi to a state court.

Hood sued Entergy in December 2008, claiming the company overcharged customers by buying electricity from its sister companies at a higher rate than on the open market, then passing the inflated costs along to consumers.

Entergy has denied the allegations. Entergy officials say regulatory agencies are the proper groups to decide the issue.
