Trial date for Greg Davis set for Sept. 13
A trial date of Sept. 13 has been set for the misdemeanor traffic violation case of Southaven Mayor Greg Davis.
The traffic case has taken on added significance in light of an ongoing state and federal probe of Davis involving $170,000 in questionable spending of taxpayer funds by Davis.
State Auditor Stacey Pickering made a surprise appearance at a Southaven city board meeting and announced he was filing suit against Davis to recoup more than $73,000. Pickering also said Davis’ salary would be garnished to satisfy the repayment of taxpayer funds.
Davis has vowed to fight all charges, including the misdemeanor traffic violations.
