Graves, Mack barred from November election ballot

Hinds County District 2 Election Commissioner Bobbie Graves and District 5 Election Commission candidate Blonda Mack won’t be on the November ballot.

The two didn’t meet legal requirements for being certified as candidates, the office of Attorney General Jim Hood says in an opinion released yesterday.

The women didn’t comply with Mississippi Code, Section 23-15-213 that requires candidates to qualify through the chancery clerk’s office by 5 p.m. the first Monday in June, the opinion says.
