Barbour: A lot to love about Romney
Former Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour said Sunday there’s a lot to love about the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, Mitt Romney.
Responding to a Roll Call story quoting House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio), saying that Americans were not going to fall in love with Romney, Barbour begged to differ.
“There’s a lot to love about Mitt Romney,” Barbour said on CBS’s “Face the Nation.”
“I think a lot of people who know Mitt Romney really really like him, fond of him, think he’s an enormously generous guy,” Barbour said. “Quit a multi-million a year job to go run the Olympics.”
“Every presidential election in the United States is a referendum on the incumbent president, if the incumbent is running,” Barbour said. “Mitt Romney also has to give people something to vote for.”
