Mississippi’s GreenTech starts electric car production
GreenTech Automotive says it hopes to make 10,000 of its small electric vehicles in the coming year.
The firm is chaired by former Democratic National Committee chief Terry McAuliffe. It marked the start of production with appearances by former President Bill Clinton and former Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour.
GreenTech is making the two-seater MyCar, a neighborhood electric vehicle, in a former elevator factory in Horn Lake, Miss. The company plans to sell a year’s output to a Danish firm.
McAuliffe says the company will also sell some cars to Domino’s Pizza franchisees and other U.S. vehicle fleet operators.
