Push on for saggy pants ban in Hinds County

Hinds County Supervisor Kenneth Stokes may get his wish after all – a ban on pants worn below the waist and sagging to the ground.

In 2009, while a Jackson councilman, Stokes proposed a law that would prohibit sagging pants in the state’s capital city. But the effort failed to garner much support on the council.

Now as Hinds’ newest supervisor, Stokes said he is looking at an ordinance that would ban the fashion statement across the county.
