Lynn Fitch – State offers MACS scholarships
The College Savings Mississippi program is awarding ten $1,000 scholarships during the month of April, designated Financial Literacy Month.
“This is such a great opportunity for our children” said state Treasurer Lynn Fitch. “Every child deserves a chance to attend college. The Mississippi Affordable College Savings Plan wants to help families realize their full potential and start thinking about college.”
Public and private schools in Mississippi, K-12, whose students open the most number of MACS plans will be eligible for the scholarships. One student from each of the top ten schools will be selected at random. For your child to qualify, all you need to do is open a new MACS (Mississippi Affordable College Savings 529 plan) for a student attending a Mississippi K-12 public or private school during the month of April. You can start with as little as $25.
