Aldermen review spending of embattled Mayor Greg Davis
A Southaven alderman confirmed Wednesday that he and fellow aldermen spent nearly six hours in a closed-door session Tuesday evening reviewing thousands of dollars in charges to Mayor Greg Davis’ since-canceled city credit card.
Alderman Ronnie Hale said the state auditor’s office, which has already ordered Davis to repay more than $170,000 in personal charges, requested that the Board of Aldermen review charges made to the mayor’s city-issued card from 2009 to 2011.
“The auditor’s asked us to look at the statements further because they had some questions and needed us to try to provide information to them, and that’s what we did,” Hale said Wednesday.
He said the board has a deadline of March 30 to send its findings to state Auditor Stacey Pickering’s office.
