Hosemann eyes worker tax credits
Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann hopes the Mississippi Legislature takes up a proposal he says could give new life to unused job-creation tax credits for businesses.
He’s backing a proposal that would allow a business the option to divert job-creation tax credits it receives for its general payroll to individual employees at $250 increments per worker if the business itself can’t put the credits to use.
Employees would apply the credits toward their personal income taxes, Hosemann says.
