Nunnelee frustrated by congressional wrangling
WASHINGTON — Alan Nunnelee was one of 87 Republican newcomers who took office in January determined to slash federal spending.
He got some early encouragement when he landed a coveted spot on the House Appropriations Committee.
But nearly a year into his first term, the 1st District congressman said he’s frustrated and disappointed with the partisan bickering that threatens to define Congress, and with what he says is lack of action on spending cuts.
“I’m not ready do an end-zone dance,” Nunnelee, R-Mississippi, said recently.
