Palazzo Statement on House Passage of National Right-to-Carry Reciprocity Act

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Steven Palazzo (R-MS), Assistant Republican Whip, said the following after the passage of H.R. 822, the National Right-to-Carry Reciprocity Act:

“Today the House took a stand for constitutional liberty by passing H.R. 822, the National Right-to-Carry Reciprocity Act. As a co-sponsor of this bill and as concealed carry permit holder, I was honored to support legislation allowing persons with a valid state-issued concealed firearm permit to carry a concealed firearm in any other state that also issues concealed firearm permits.

“That this bill passed with bipartisan support demonstrates that this House is committed to protecting our 2nd Amendment rights as well as the safety of our citizens. This bill respects the laws in each state and does not infringe upon the laws in each, but enables law abiding citizens to exercise their constitutional right to bear arms.

“This bill respects and promotes the rights and safety of the citizens of Mississippi and as such I’m proud to be a supporter.”
