Mayor Andrew Westerfield Endorses Luckett
Merigold Mayor Believes Luckett Right Person for this Moment in State’s History

CLARKSDALE, MS. — Bill Luckett, Democratic candidate for Governor, today announces Merigold Mayor Andrew Westerfield’s endorsement of his candidacy. Mayor Westerfield, in a letter to Luckett, provided the following statement:

“Dear Bill, It is a great pleasure to give you my unanimous endorsement to be the Democratic candidate for Governor and also to be the future Governor for the State of Mississippi. Our State is in great need of people like you who are not career politicians stepping forward and willing to dedicate your time and energy to the betterment of the State of Mississippi. This is a definite time in our State’s history where all need to put aside partisan politics and support the best person running to be our next Governor. That person would be you.” Signed Andrew M. W. Westerfield, Mayor, Town of Merigold. Dated June 1, 2011

Westerfield’s successful leadership and service to Merigold and Mississippi also includes running small businesses and practicing law. He owns Crawdad’s, a restaurant that has been a mainstay of jobs and economic development along Mississippi’s Highway 61 for more than a quarter of a century.
