LAUREL — Are you ready for hurricane season?
That’s the message officials from the Jones County Emergency Management Agency and Mississippi Public Service Commission were spreading Tuesday.
Today marks the beginning of hurricane season, which runs from June 1 to November 30.
Marda Tullos, deputy director of the Jones County Emergency Management Agency, said the NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) Weather Outlook predicts an “above average” hurricane season.
