Redistricting brings Dems, GOP together
Madison County Republicans find themselves in unusual company when it comes to local redistricting.
“We’re taking the same position as Attorney General Jim Hood, a Democrat,” said Canton attorney Jim Herring, the former chairman of the Mississippi GOP.
Both the Madison County Republican Party and the state of Mississippi, represented by Hood, are opposing the Board of Supervisors’ efforts to extend the qualifying deadline for candidates in the Aug. 2 primaries.
