Students to host top-ticket state candidates April 6 at MSU
Mississippi State’s Student Association and the university’s Stennis-Montgomery Association will sponsor an April 6 campus forum for seven candidates in the state governor’s race and two in the lieutenant governor’s race.
Moderated by MSU journalist-in-residence Sid Salter, the 6-8 p.m. event will be held in the Bettersworth Auditorium of Lee Hall. Doors open at 5:15 p.m.
Student organizers invited all major party candidates to take part in the question-and-answer format.
Gubernatorial candidates attending include Bill Compton Jr., Dave Dennis, Johnny Dupree, Hudson Holliday, Bill Luckett, Guy Shaw, and Ron Williams. Billy Hewes and Tate Reeves are the participating lieutenant governor candidates.
