Senate committee sets vote on Graves
WASHINGTON — The Senate Judiciary Committee is scheduled to vote again Thursday on the nomination of James Graves Jr. to serve on the 5th U.S. Court of Appeals.
Graves’ nomination is among 11 the committee will consider. The nominations then must be approved by the full Senate.
The Senate Judiciary Committee in December unanimously approved several judicial nominees, including Graves, but the full Senate adjourned without confirming them.
President Barack Obama resubmitted Graves’ nomination earlier this month.
Mississippi Republican Sens. Thad Cochran and Roger Wicker support Graves’ nomination.
