More converts for the Republicans
“I am not a member of any organized political party. I am a Democrat.” That famous quote from humorist Will Rogers in the 1930s certainly rings true in Mississippi.
There seems to be little organization in the party that once dominated Mississippi’s political arena.
Call the party’s state headquarters in Jackson and you get a recording.
The party continues to hemorrhage members, especially white Mississippians. In the past two years at least 17 elected Democrats in Mississippi have switched to the Republican Party.
