So far 3 vying for Palazzo’s old seat
BILOXI — At least three, and likely more, candidates plan to run for the state House District 116 seat being vacated by Steven Palazzo, who was elected to Congress.
The special election will be held Jan. 11 to fill the seat for the final year of the term.
Those planning to run:
n Jim Atchison, owner of a Biloxi real estate company, former deputy with the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department and former Keesler Medical Center intensive care unit medic.
n Casey Eure, a Biloxi small-business owner, former district director for the state Public Service Commission and a former investigator with the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department.
n Chuck Stein of Biloxi, salesman for a shipbuilding-industry supplier, Navy Seabee veteran and former publisher of the Biloxi-D’Iberville Press newspaper, which his family owned and operated for decades. The Sun Herald did not receive a photo from Stein.
