Cochran and Wicker Split On Earmark Vote

Earlier today the full Senate shot down an amendment that would have banned earmarks for two years. The final vote was 39 in favor and 56 opposed. This vote came just a couple weeks after the GOP conference agreed to a voluntary ban that is not enforceable, but had near unanimous support.

Sen. Thad Cochran was among eight Republicans who opposed the ban. Sen. Roger Wicker supported the ban.

Majority in Miss.
