Letter: Taylor can’t hide that he voted for Pelosi
I have watched the contest between Gene Taylor and Steven Palazzo since the primary election was over.
Palazzo correctly pins the two votes of his opponent for Nancy Pelosi at center stage, and it seems like Taylor is pushing his opponent on his vote in the Mississippi Legislature concerning eminent domain.
Well, here is what I am finding out from the grassroots in South Mississippi:
The world we have in Mississippi after Palazzo’s vote against the infamous eminent domain bill is the exact world Mississippians have had and known for hundreds of years. Absolutely nothing has changed.
So I guess you can mark that vote up to the status quo. Not that the status quo is good or bad; it’s just the same thing.
What Taylor gave us with his votes for Pelosi is a very different and, frankly, worse world for all Mississippians and Americans. Taylor can’t say he’s one of us, because South Mississippians overwhelmingly would have never voted for such a liberal as Pelosi to lead as speaker of the House, no matter what the deal.
