Judges recuse themselves from street dispute

By: Magnolia Tribune - October 15, 2010

Crossbridge paving suit delayed

All four Hinds County chancery judges have stepped aside from hearing a lawsuit filed by the county against the Crossbridge developer to force him to fix the streets.

Crystal Martin, attorney for the county Board of Supervisors, told supervisors and residents she doesn’t know why all of the Chancery Court judges recused themselves.

“Legally, they do not have to provide a reason,” she said.

“I know one of the judges won’t hear it because she is my mother,” said Martin, daughter of Chancery Judge Patricia Wise.
