COLUMBIA, S.C. — Steve Spurrier once sat in a press box transmitting plays to his offense.
That’s hard to believe considering the indelible image of South Carolina’s head coach tossing his visor during some nail-biting afternoons on Florida’s sidelines in the 1990s.
Spurrier said his stay in the press box when he was Duke’s offensive coordinator in the 1980s was short, and with good reason.
