Taylor’s anti-Palazzo ad prompts response

A new ad paid for by the campaign to reelect Congressman Gene Taylor, D-Bay St. Louis, to represent the fourth congressional district has prompted a response from challenger Rep. Steven Palazzo, the conservative Republican and Biloxi businessman.

The ad, which can be seen on YouTube, opens with a shot of an elderly woman on the front porch of a home in a rocking chair flipping through a photo album. A voiceover tells viewers she was born there, raised her children there and “served roast beef with rice and gravy” every Sunday. But now, the narrator tells viewers, the Mississippi legislature is letting developers take her house away.

Palazzo, the ad says, voted against property rights and for the developers. “Palazzo said no to property rights, let’s say no to Palazzo,” the ad says.
