REMINDER: HARPER TO KEYNOTE ENERGY TOWN HALL

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Representative Gregg Harper (R–Miss.) will deliver the keynote remarks at an energy town hall meeting today in Starkville. The event is being hosted by the Partnership for Affordable Clean Energy (PACE) and Mississippi State University.

“I am privileged to join this premiere panel of energy experts,” said Harper, who represents Mississippi’s Third Congressional District. “Mississippi is already contributing to the future of American produced energy. America should embrace an energy strategy that harnesses new technologies – like solar and wind – and increases American energy production from oil, natural gas, clean coal technology and nuclear power.”

Dr. Mark Keenum, the president of Mississippi State University, will offer welcoming remarks and introduce Congressman Harper. Harper’s comments will be followed by two panels that will cover energy efficiency and emerging technologies and a discussion on energy resources and consumer impacts.

The town hall meeting, which is open to the public, will be held at Mississippi State University in Bost Theater from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
