GOV. BARBOUR ANNOUNCES ADDITION OF STATE VETERANS HOME AS VETERANS DAY REGIONAL SITE

JACKSON – Governor Haley Barbour announced today the Mississippi State Veterans Home in Kosciusko has been approved as a Veterans Day Regional Site.

The Mississippi State Veterans Home joins the Gulf Coast Annual Veterans Day Parade as Veterans Day Regional Sites as designated by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs.

“The designation as a Veterans Day Regional Site is really a tribute to the Veterans Home and the communities that make the extra effort to honor the military men and women who have served our country,” Gov.
Barbour said. Kosciusko and the Gulf Coast have been very active in supporting our veterans, and I’m glad to have two sites acknowledged by Veterans Affairs.”

Status as a regional site also comes with requests to the branches of the military to support the Veterans Day programs with personnel and other resources.
