Bama will be ‘OK’ without Ingram

Richardson was arguably Saban’s biggest recruit to Alabama, an elite tailback from Pensacola, Fla., whom everyone wanted and who the Tide eventually held off rival Florida to sign. He showed flashes all season as Ingram’s backup, and then officially arrived with 109 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries in the BCS championship game win over Texas.
“He showed what he was all about on the biggest stage,” said Alabama linebacker Don’t’a Hightower.
Earlier this summer Alabama quarterback Greg McElroy was talking about Ingram and Richardson and searching for any distinct difference between the two. One of the smartest players in college football, a player who will apply for the Rhodes Scholarship, came up with this answer:
“About one inch and five pounds,” McElroy said.
