Wicker, local leaders celebrate Olive Branch hospital plan
Sen. Roger Wicker just happened to be passing through Olive Branch on a momentous day in the city’s history, and he wanted to be a part of the occasion.
That’s why Wicker, on his way home to North Mississippi Wednesday morning from an interview in Memphis during Congress’ August break, stopped at an empty field alongside the bustling traffic of U.S. 78.
Over the next few years, the empty field will become a thriving medical center and one of DeSoto County’s economic prizes. And that, said Wicker, R-Miss., was worth stopping for.
