Desoto Times – New hospital one step closer
OLIVE BRANCH – Olive Branch is one step closer to breaking ground on a hospital after Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare’s certificate of need application received a positive recommendation and is now waiting for the Mississippi Department of Health’s approval.
“That’s just one more very positive step forward,” said Olive Branch Mayor Sam Rikard. “Hopefully later this year we will hear that the application is approved by the state department of health and that there are no objectors.”
The application was heard in March and is now awaiting the final decision by a state health officer.
“We are thrilled that the hearing officer found our application in compliance with the applicable review criterion and the State Health Plan,” said Donna Abney, executive vice president of Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare. “We are optimistic and look forward to the state health officer’s decision.”
