USC’s Kiffin & Co. will earn their keep trying to offset penalties
The NCAA left little doubt Thursday that it intended to rein in the program even further with its two-year bowl ban and 30-scholarship reduction over three years.
But now the question is, how do USC and Kiffin absorb the punishing blows?
The immediate future might not be much different than the past nine years. USC appealed the penalties, which might delay the bowl ban for a season, and the scholarship reduction doesn’t take effect until the 2011-12 school year.
