Thanks to Kentucky experience, Cohen says he knows what’s next
The obvious comparison, of course, is to Kentucky. There, in 2004 and 2005, his first two teams struggled mightily before the 2006 Wildcats won 20 league games and the SEC title in his third season as coach.
Cohen isn’t promising that; a league title might be asking quite a bit. But that Cohen went through his experience at Kentucky tells him better days are ahead. “If I hadn’t gone through the experience at Kentucky, I wouldn’t be ready for something like this,” Cohen said Wednesday morning, after his team won at Southern Miss, 16-9. “Having gone through that, I know what’s at the end of the rainbow here.”
