McGlowan to Jim Hood: “Fear Not Barack Obama”
Calls on A.G. to Join Lawsuit Challenging Constitutionality of Obama-Care
Oxford, MS – Former Fox News political analyst and TEA Party speaker Angela McGlowan, the pro-life, pro-gun, anti-tax, anti-wasteful government spending conservative Republican running to represent Mississippians in the 1st congressional district, today called on Mississippi Attorney General Jim Hood to comply with Governor Haley Barbour’s request to, on behalf of all Mississippians, join the 13 other state Attorney Generals who filed a lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of the health care reform bill signed into law by President Barack Obama.
McGlowan has also signed the Club for Growth’s pledge to sponsor and support legislation to repeal Obama-Care.
“On behalf of over 75% of Mississippi voters who were represented with a ‘no’ vote on ‘Obama-care’ Sunday, I call on Attorney General Jim Hood to fear not Barack Obama, listen to the overwhelming majority of Mississippians, and heed Governor Barbour’s request to put the state of Mississippi squarely behind the lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of ‘Obama-Care,” McGlowan said. “I have taken the Club for Growth’s pledge to, as a member of Congress, sponsor and support legislation to repeal Obama-Care. However, while it is important to commit to fighting for the repeal of this travesty in the future, we must, as Mississippians, band together and rise up now, with every fiber in our being, to stop Obama-Care from ever hurting the first Mississippian.”

On Sunday, the U.S. House of Representatives narrowly passed a health care reform bill that will raise taxes and force individuals to purchase health insurance.
Yesterday, Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum was joined by 12 Attorney Generals in filing the first lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of the new legislation.
Governor Haley Barbour called on Hood to respond by noon on Thursday as to whether Mississippi will join the lawsuit.
